Entry fee is $50.00.  Contestants are responsible for getting their own sponsors.  You will begin set-up for the  stew at 6:00 a.m. at Main St. & Houston St. A Chamber representative will greet you with your Contestant Site Number. Contestants must use propane for their cooking.  You will be cooking on the street pavement. Please follow our “Burn Ban” policy.  Wood fires and fire rings will not be allowed.  A large Cast Iron Pot should be used for uniformity.  Each contestant must bring their own small fire extinguisher.  Each contestant is responsible for furnishing a sign with cookers name(s) and Sponsor Name.  Your Sign should be at least 12 x 18 inches.  Chicken & Beef may be pre-cooked and de-boned.   Contestants must use USDA approved meat. Ingredients may be washed and cut prior to set up, but all cooking must be done on site.  Contestants must have at least ten (10) gallons of finished stew to sell to the public.  Contestants having less than ten (10) gallons will be disqualified.  All proceeds go to the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce a 501-C-6 Corporation.  Contestants must have a numbered Cup & Jar must be poured and ready to submit to the Judges by 9:30 a.m. All numbered cups & jars will be provided FREE for double blind judging, quart public sale & auction.   Chamber staff will return for 8 more quarts for sale to the public & as needed.  The public will pay for “All You Can Eat” bowls at Main Tent.  You should NOT collect money or served public in any other container.                                                6:00 a.m.     Check in, set up camp sites and start cooking.                                                                            9:30 a.m.     Stew collected and turned over to the Judges stand.                                                           9:45 a.m.     Double Blind Judging of stew at Judges Tent open to the public.                                       11:00 a.m.    Prize awards will be announced after judging                                                                              Noon           Auction of winning stews will be held at the Main Stage /Car Show Parking Lot.                    (Winners please remain at the stage until after photo shoot & media has info.)                         11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  Stew served by contestants until gone.  Bring funnel and jar ladle for serving.
