What Does the Chamber Do For You?
Community pride is self-evident in the number of active volunteer committees within the Chamber that are dedicated to creating interactive partnerships between business and government entities and the community. All of the benefits listed below are there to help shape the future of our area and enhance the overall quality of life in Franklin County. Membership is an investment in our community.
Acts as a Community Information Service & Tourism Bureau – The Chamber processes thousands of inquiries annually through phone calls, referrals, emails and personal visits to our office. Maps, brochures, phone books and member business information are also made available through our office.
Provides Marketing Opportunities – Hold ribbon cutting ceremonies and local newspaper coverage for new businesses. New businesses are also highlighted through our website presence. Quarterly, the Chamber hosts Member Mixers for business networking opportunities.
Annual Newcomers Guide – Widely distributed annually by our local newspaper and available through the Chamber for newcomers and relocation packets, this guide lists information for area businesses and a great way to get the word out about your business.
Member Business Card Display – The Chamber offers free space in the lobby to display member business cards or promotional literature.
Email Blasts – Informative email blasts to our database of members provide important community news, highlights recent member businesses, ribbon cuttings and list of new Chamber Members.
Website listing – All businesses are listed on the Chamber website, both alphabetically and by category, to help visitors or new customers easily locate your member information. Free listing of your Special Event may also be highlighted on the “Events” page of the website by contacting the Chamber.
Hosts Annual Chamber Banquet - The annual banquet is held to celebrate our members and recognize personal achievement through Man & Woman of the Year, Business of the Year awards and other community recognitions.
Volunteer and Committees – The heart and soul of any non-profit organization are the volunteers. Your Chamber Committees and Ambassadors work hard in the background all year on behalf of promoting Chamber members and helping coordinate Special Events in the community. The Chamber offers many opportunities to volunteer and serve on any of these important Committees.
High School Leadership Program – Annually throughout the school year, the Chamber sponsors a leadership program with select high school juniors in the’ Leaders of Tomorrow’ Program. This outstanding program gives a group of hand-picked juniors a rare glance at many facets of the community. The class meets monthly with visits to local law enforcement, government, volunteer, medical and business executives to get an up close look at how these entities and their leaders perform in the community. The program seeks to build important leadership skills in the youth of our future. Scholarships are awarded to select graduating Seniors that have gone through this program their Junior year.
